Your Webinar Description:
Condo living presents a unique set of challenges for dogs — constant noise, shared hallways, elevators, tight spaces, limited outdoor access, and little room for decompression. Many “behaviour problems” seen in city dogs — barking, leash reactivity, door charging, frustration, hypervigilance — are often stress responses to an environment that offers few outlets for choice, movement, and agency. Based on my Condo Canine Seminar Series, this webinar explores why condo life can be particularly difficult for dogs and how well-meaning guardians may inadvertently add to that stress.
Participants will learn practical, humane, and enrichment-based strategies to help dogs regulate both inside and outside the condo environment. From hallway etiquette and elevator skills to indoor decompression zones, scent-based enrichment, and structured outdoor exposure, this session provides immediately applicable tools for trainers and pet professionals working with urban clients. We’ll shift the conversation from “fixing behaviours” to designing environments and routines that support resilience.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify environmental stressors unique to condo and high-density urban living and how they impact canine behaviour.
- Identify the subtle signs of stress that lead to “trigger stacking” within a condo setting.
- Implement practical, force-free strategies to support regulation, confidence, and decompression inside and outside the condo setting.
