PDA Professional Licensing
Welcome! You are here because you are interested in becoming a Pet Dog Ambassador (PDA) Instructor or Instructor/Assessor. We are excited to have you!
Currently, only Pet Professional Guild (PPG) members can both instruct and assess the program; non-members can instruct the program and access all the support resources. If you want to both instruct and assess the program but are not yet a member of the PPG, now is an excellent time to join!
Why You Should Become a Licensed PDA Professional
We provide the program while you provide the hands-on care and coaching required! The PDA program offers a complete five-level training curriculum for you to implement through your business in one toolkit that includes:
- The Pet Guardians’ Guide and Assessment Markers Guide to help you promote the program and support your interested clients.
- A fully detailed and successfully piloted curriculum for each level of the program, including structured class outlines.
- A listing in the international PDA professional directory so clients can find you.
- A badge (electronic) to use on your website and in your business communications. Artwork for you to create an embroidered badge is also provided.
- Customizable and downloadable marketing collateral to support you and ensure your success, including:
- Tri-fold pamphlets
- Posters
- Rack cards
- Refrigerator magnets
- Much more … and additional tools become available as they are developed.

If you are a PPG member, you get a discount on this program! To get your discount code, log in to the PPG member area then go to Member Essentials > Member Discounts and click on the link for Discounts on PPG Programs.
PLEASE NOTE: You must apply your discount code when you sign up for the program. Refunds for discounts are not available after you sign up.

Instructor License Only
Available to all positive reinforcement–based trainers

- Begin teaching the program!
Instructor/Assessor License
Available only to PPG members

- You will then have six (6) months to complete the instructor/assessor licensing requirements.
- You will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to get started.
- Pass a short online, knowledge-based test (open-book).
- Pass a second test that covers the skills and how to accurately assess them.
- Begin teaching and assessing the program!
The applicant fees above cover your PDA membership for the first year. After filling out the application and paying the fee, you have six (6) months to complete the requirements for your PDA license.
