As entrepreneurs, we’re often having to “pitch” to potential customers why they should hire us instead of a competitor. Learning how to be authentic, transparent, and comfortable with answering the phone and pitching is all part of your business plan. You are your best marketing channel! What makes your product or service the best option? Why should your target market change up what they’ve already been doing?

To wrap up this four-part Business Planning series*, attendees from webinars II and III will be given the opportunity to pitch their businesses and receive feedback from the instructor and fellow attendees. Pitch length will depend on the number of presenters. This will be a great opportunity to practice and develop skills necessary for real-life situations.

Learning Objectives:

• As an attendee, by the completion of this course, you will be able to:

• Pitch your business

• Receive feedback on your pitch from the instructor and fellow attendees

*Please note: Each webinar can also be taken as a stand-alone course.

About The Presenter

Joan Hunter Mayer

Joan Hunter Mayer’s journey from owner of a successful dog training business, The Inquisitive Canine, to inventor and entrepreneur has been fueled by her passion to create a cultural shift that enhances the human-canine bond.

Inspired by her own dogs and working with a team of professional designers, engineers and artisans, Joan launched TransPaw Gear and the Happy Harness. This unique harness has been developed exclusively for the Love of Dogs and specially designed to support humane, force-free interactions that harness happiness and unleash fun.

Hunter Mayer understands the challenges that both humans and dogs face in everyday life. Her extensive learning in animal training and behavior, has led to multiple certifications, including CBCC-KA and CPDT-KA from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and The Academy for Dog Trainers certificate in training and counseling. She is also a certified canine nose work instructor via the National Association of Canine Scent Work and a certified separation anxiety trainer.

In addition to 15+ years working hands on with dogs and their human parents, her unique educational background also includes fashion (she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and spent 14 years in costuming for film and TV), nursing (studied at Ventura College and Stanford Medical School in California), and business (earned an MBA from Antioch University). This combination of art and science infused with caring and creativity is what Hunter Mayer brings to her work as an advocate to empower dogs and the people who love them.
