So, you’re thinking about starting a new business venture or doing a “health check” for your current business…Great! You’re comfortable with the Business Planning Basics (perhaps from the first webinar of this series)…Excellent! Now what? There’s so much to think about. Who is your target market? What resources will you need? And which do you already have: Great communication skills? Empathy? Experience? Knowledge base?

This presentation (Part II of IV*) will help you organize your thoughts and lay the groundwork for a plan that brings you from wondering ‘what if’ to successful implementation of your idea. We will begin our journey of going through each step in more detail and attendees will be given suggested ‘homework’ assignments that bring the concepts we cover from theoretical to practical.

Learning Objectives:

As an attendee, by the completion of this course, you will be able to:

- Tackle the problem-solution puzzle

- Determine your unique selling proposition

- Define your target markets

- Understand the importance of a SWOT analysis

- Specify resources you have and need

- Create a business plan of your own

*Please note: Each webinar can also be taken as a stand-alone course.

    About Your Presenter

    Joan Hunter Mayer

Joan Hunter Mayer’s journey from owner of a successful dog training business, The Inquisitive Canine, to inventor and entrepreneur has been fueled by her passion to create a cultural shift that enhances the human-canine bond.

Inspired by her own dogs and working with a team of professional designers, engineers and artisans, Joan launched TransPaw Gear and the Happy Harness. This unique harness has been developed exclusively for the Love of Dogs and specially designed to support humane, force-free interactions that harness happiness and unleash fun.

Hunter Mayer understands the challenges that both humans and dogs face in everyday life. She is also a certified canine nose work instructor via the National Association of Canine Scent Work and a certified separation anxiety trainer.

In addition to 15+ years working hands on with dogs and their human parents, her unique educational background also includes fashion (she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and spent 14 years in costuming for film and TV), nursing (studied at Ventura College and Stanford Medical School in California), and business (earned an MBA from Antioch University). This combination of art and science infused with caring and creativity is what Hunter Mayer brings to her work as an advocate to empower dogs and the people who love them.
