Pet Professional Guild Announces 2023 Summit, Invites Proposals for Academic Sessions and Skill Labs

Event to take place at the Arizona Humane Society in Phoenix, November 1-5

INVERNESS, Fla. – Sept. 29, 2022 – The Pet Professional Guild (PPG) has announced that its 2023 Summit will take place November 1-5, 2023, at the Arizona Humane Society in Phoenix. The in-person event will also be livestreamed.

“Connecting with other pet professionals and educating ourselves are vitally important to enabling us as human caretakers to provide animals with the best possible environment—one where they can thrive,” said Jennifer Dagnino, behavior and pet training manager at the Arizona Humane Society. “We’re so thrilled to host PPG and guests at the Arizona Humane Society and align our missions: to improve the lives of pets in our care and to continue supporting these pets and their people in homes.”

PPG’s corporate partner dog*biz will be jointly hosting the event and providing a full day of education for its THRIVE! members.

“We’re thrilled to be co-hosting this unique event alongside the PPG,” said dog*biz founder Veronica Boutelle. “We love the opportunity to provide business education and support to trainers and others working to help animals find and keep their forever homes. And we’re incredibly excited about our first ever in-person meetup with THRIVE! members.”

The event is called Homeward Bound—Transitioning Pets Into Their New Homes: Fun and Enriching Education for Pets and Their People, and will feature academic sessions and skill labs on a wide variety of topics. Early morning walks and runs for attendees will precede the educational sessions and labs, and treasure hunts, bonfires and barbeques for humane society pets will head up the evening entertainment. There will be loads of fun and enrichment for all in attendance.

PPG invites potential presenters to submit their proposals via the PPG website. If accepted, presenters will be notified of options for a date and time for their sessions. They will also participate in the marketing of their sessions via the provision of a unique marketing toolkit.

“I have visited the Arizona Humane Society twice over the last 3 years, as we had initially planned to host this event in 2020,” said Niki Tudge, PPG president. “I continue to be impressed by the team of professionals in the organization, their programs and the facility. I am really looking forward to hosting the event with dog*biz, the Arizona Humane Society and our team at the Pet Professional Guild—a trio of progressive organizations with similar missions coming together to support and enjoy a week of training and behavior education for professionals to help move our industry forward.”
