**Special Note**

If you choose to sign up for the 3-Day Summit and not the 5-Day Summit & Workshop you are welcome to remain in Kanab and attend the General Sessions at the Conference Center sheduled for the Thursday & Friday.  You may also want to take advantage of volunteering at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. 

A Rally Cry for Presenters – Timeline

1.      On May 5, 2019 the application process for potential speakers will be announced.
a.      Applications will be taken for General Sessions, Lecture/LABS and Workshops.
2.      Applications may be submitted between May 5, 2019 and June 5, 2019.
3.      Successful applicants will be notified with a presenter agreement by August 30, 2019.
4.      The final event schedule with session names and descriptions will be posted by September 15, 2019.

Collaborative Care and Enrichment – Creating Partnerships for Positive Results!

Our first event at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah was such a success we’ve decided to go back! That’s right, we are delighted to announce that we are going back to Best Friends in September 2020 – this time with an even bigger and better event!

Kanab now has a fully-equipped Conference Center, so we have developed a unique plan to overlap our Annual PPG Three-Day Summit with a Five-Day, Hands-on Workshop at Best Friends. This means attendees can choose between two fabulous options:

Program 1: Summit (Three Days).

Program 2: Summit + Skills Workshop (Five Days).

Draft Schedule

The Concept

 The theme for the event is Collaborative Care and Enrichment – Creating Partnerships for Positive Results!

  • All attendees (i.e. Programs 1 and 2) will gather each morning for General Sessions at Kanab Conference Center.
  • Program 2 attendees will then be transported to the Sanctuary for lunch and afternoon workshops, returning to Kanab around 3:30 p.m.
  • General Sessions and breakout Lecture/LABS will be held at Kanab Conference Center each afternoon for Program 1 attendees.
  • There will also be a General Session each evening to accommodate Best Friends employees and Program 2 attendees, who will be unable to attend the afternoon sessions at Kanab Conference Center.
  • Program 2 attendees will choose a Workshop schedule when they register for the event, so will know in advance exactly which Workshops they will be attending. 


Registration

Registration will take place at the Kanab Convention Center. There will be two key registration types for PPG members and nonmembers.

  • Program 1: Summit Entrance
  • Attendees enjoy three full days of presentations at the Kanab Conference Center and can enroll their own dogs in the Working Sessions.
  • Program 2: Summit + Skills Workshop Entrance
  • Attendees will enjoy morning and evening General Sessions at the Kanab Conference Center plus afternoon Workshops at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, each day for five days.


Workshop Schedule by Group

There will be eight Groups of Workshop attendees:

  • Three Groups are Canine focused, with two of the five sessions being held at Dog Town.
  • Three Groups are General Groups, with each session featuring a different species.
  • One Group is Avian focused, with two of the five sessions being held at the Parrot Garden.
  • One Group is a Feline focused, with three of the five sessions being held at Cat World.

At registration, attendees will select which Group they wish to register for. The schedule for each of the eight Groups is below. Individual sessions may be swapped by attendees on site during the event through a process administered and approved by the event management.
